Recently, Uruguayan President Yamandú Orsi paid a state visit to China. During the visit, President Xue Hongwei of South China Agricultural University (SCAU) was invited to participate in a group meeting with President Orsi and the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation framework agreements between Chinese and Uruguayan institutions, along with other activities.

At the signing ceremony, SCAU signed the Framework Agreement for Research, Technological Innovation and Knowledge Management to Strengthen Uruguay-China Food Security Cooperation with Universidad de la República,Uruguay under the witness of Uruguayan Foreign Minister.
