Yang Zhiqun, born in August 1973, joined the Communist Party of China in December 1995. He holds a master's degree and is an associate research fellow. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC South China Agricultural University Committee, and Director of the Organization Department (Director of the Party School Office).

He began his career in July 1998 at South China Agricultural University, holding various positions including Section Chief of the Ideological Education Section of the Student Affairs Department, Deputy Party Secretary of the College of Arts, Secretary of the University Youth League Committee, Party Secretary of the College of Life Sciences, Acting Director of the Student Affairs Department, and Director of the Publicity Department and United Front Work Department. From January 2021 to January 2025, he concurrently served as a member of the 12th and 13th Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He has been a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC South China Agricultural University Committee since January 2020, and has served as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC South China Agricultural University Committee and Director of the Organization Department since May 2024.
