Ding Hongxing, born in May 1973 in Xuchang, Henan, started working in July 1998. He holds a doctoral degree and is associate research fellow. He is currently the Deputy Chairman of the University Council.

From July 1998 to October 2003, he served as student counselor at South China Agricultural University; from October 2003 to April 2007, he worked in the Council Office (United Front Work Department), during which he was promoted to Director in November 2003; from April 2007 to January 2011, he served as the Chairman of the Council of College of Horticulture; from January 2011 to January 2013, he was the Deputy Director of the Council Office; from January 2013 to June 2014, he was the Deputy Director of the HR Department; from June 2014 to March 2017, he was Chairman of the College of Mathematics and Information Council; from March 2017 to December 2019, he was Director of the HR Department. From December 2019 to January 2020, he served as Director of the University Council's Organization Department; from January 2020 to April 2024, he was a member of the University Council; in April 2024, he was appointed as Vice Chairman of the University Council.
