In a continued effort to foster agricultural cooperation between China and Colombia, a delegation from Universidad del Tolima and the Federation of Rice Growes of Colombia, visited the Dajisha Island Smart Farm in Huangpu, Guangzhou, for an inspection and exchange on the morning of April 19th. This visit follows the inauguration of the China-Colombia Rice Joint Research Center at SCAU on April 16th. The delegation was received by Luo Xiwen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor Liu Yaoguang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Researcher of SCAU.
Introduction to Unmanned Agricultural Machinery by Academician Luo Xiwen
Dajisha Island is one of the key demonstration bases of the Modern Agricultural Equipment and Service Industry Park in Huangpu District, Guangzhou. It has been jointly developed by the Huangpu Innovation Research Institute of SCAU and the Longping Agricultural Science and Technology Huangpu Research Institute. The team demonstrated projects such as unmanned rotary tillage, unmanned spraying, unmanned aerial vehicle plant protection, unmanned precision seeding of rice, and unmanned rice transplanting. The delegation attentively observed the demonstrations and inquired about the construction and application of the project.
Observation and Discussion
During the symposium, Academician Luo Xiwen delivered a report titled Exploration and Practice of Unmanned Farming, and the delegation engaged in discussions with the two academicians on topics including the construction of unmanned farms and the breeding and cultivation of hybrid rice.
