From December 12th to 16th, Li Fengliang, Secretary of the Party Committee of SCAU, was invited to lead a delegation to visit the University of Queensland and the University of Newcastle in Australia. The main purpose of this visit is to expand the inter-school cooperative relationship between SCAU and the University of Queensland by signing a joint student training agreement, participating in the 3+2 undergraduate and master's degree joint training between SCAU and the University of Newcastle in Landscape Architecture-Architecture, discussing talent training, academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation. That is how we strengthen the in-depth cooperation with Australian counterparts and usher in a new era.

The University of Queensland (UQ ) is located in Brisbane, Queensland. It is an Australian public comprehensive university founded in 1909. It is a member of the Australian Alliance of Eight Schools, UNIVERSITAS 21 and other organizations. SCAU delegation visited the St. Lucia and Gatton campuses and met with Rongyu Li,Vice President of UQ , and Melissa Brown, Dean of the Department of Science.
Li Fengliang said that UQ is one of the world's top research-intensive universities with outstanding disciplinary advantages and strong scientific strength; SCAU is a double first-class university in China. The two universities both have a long history,similar subject structures and visions. It was hoped that this visit could deepen the bilateral exchanges and cooperation in talent training, teaching and scientific research, and personnel exchanges focusing on agriculture, environment, veterinary medicine and food.
Rongyu Li said that he expected the two universities to strengthen exchanges, enhance mutual trust, and consolidate cooperation in terms of expanding cooperation areas, conducting joint training, and cooperative academic research.
At the symposium, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics such as cooperation in key areas, student exchanges and joint training, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

The University of Newcastle is located in Newcastle, New South Wales. It is an Australian public comprehensive university established in 1965. It has a main campus in Callaghan, 5 campuses in Orumba, Central Coast, Newcastle Central Business District and Sydney Central Business District, and 1 overseas campus in Singapore. The 3+2 joint bachelor’s and master’s training program in landscape architecture-architecture jointly organized by SCAU and Newcastle University has started recruiting students in 2018, and currently has 262 students enrolled.
On December 15, Newcastle University President Alex Zelinsky, Executive Vice-President Kent Anderson and Vice-President for International Affairs Sunny Yang received the SCAU delegation and held discussions.
Li Fengliang said that the two universities have a long history of cooperation. The College of Forestry and Landscape Architecture in SCAU and School of Architecture and Environmental Construction of Newcastle have extensive and in-depth academic exchanges. In the past five years, both parties have jointly trained a number of outstanding students. It was hoped that the two parties could continue to complement each other's advantages and develop a comprehensive, mutually beneficial and friendly partnership in the future.
Alex Zelinsky said that Newcastle University attached great importance to its partnership with SCAU and the all-round cooperation between the two universities was expected.

Li Fengliang met with the first graduates and parents of SCAU “3+2” joint undergraduate and master’s program in landscape architecture. He said that in the past few years, it was not easy for the students of the first international class to overcome difficulties, seize opportunities, study hard and graduate successfully. It was hoped that the students would continue to enrich their knowledge, develop their abilities, constantly surpass themselves, and return to China to work. After the symposium, Li Fengliang also attended the graduation ceremony of School of Architecture and Environmental Construction.
In the Ourumba campus
The delegation also visited Newcastle University’s Ourumba campus and Callaghan campus, and conducted in-depth discussions on future cooperation in the fields of food science, marine science, environmental science.
