On November 12th, 2020, Michael Luo, International Project Commissioner, Western Institute for Food Safety & Security, UC Davis, visited SCAU to explore cooperation possibilities. Director Wang Jianwu and Deputy Director Yuan Juhua from Office of International Relations; Dean Lei Hongtao and Deputy Dean Du Bin from College of Food Science; and Deputy Dean Sun Yongxue from College of Veterinary Medicine joined the meeting.
Participants of our university briefly introduced SCAU’s development in recent years, in particular in fields like academic research, talent training, faculty exchange, industry-university-research cooperation and international exchanges. At the same time, they reviewed the collaboration between SACU and UC, Davis. It was suggested that both universities promote scientific collaboration among teachers and to carry out student exchange or joint-degree programs for graduates and postgraduates.
Michael Luo presented the Western Institute for Food Safety & Security and highlighted the university-enterprise cooperation mode and cooperation with overseas universities of UC Davis. He said that UC Davis attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and suggested that both sides start scientific collaboration in the fields of food science and veterinary medicine, and then expand to other disciplines.
