Recently, SCAU and City University of Hong Kong have reached consensus on cooperation on animal disease R&D and commercialization of research outputs and signed the agreement on the co-establishment of Joint Lab on Animal Disease.
According to the agreement, the Joint Lab Management Committee will be set up at both universities, with Professor Feng Yaoyu, Dean of School of Veterinary Medicine of SCAU, and Professor Chen Sheng, Deputy Dean of Jockey Club School of Animal Medicine and Life Sciences at CityU as Directors. The Joint Lab will be committed to fundamental research into fields like genetic evolution of animal disease pathogens and development of technical products and their commercialization.
The School of Veterinary Medicine of SCAU boasts a long history and enjoys high reputation both at home and abroad. Veterinary Medicine ranked No. 44 according to the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2019.
SCAU has always attached great importance to exchanges and cooperation with well-known universities in Hong Kong and Macau. The establishment of the Joint Lab is expected to contribute to the development of animal disease prevention and control technologies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
