On the morning of November 9,a delegation of 4 fromMurdoch University, Australia visited SCAU, including Professor David Morrison, Vice-Chancellorfor scientific research, Professor Lyn Karstadt, Vice-Chancellorfor international affairs, Professor Yonglin Ren, Vice Deanfor foreign affairsof College of Veterinary and Life Sciences, and Mrs. Pearl Chua-Kyselicova, Principal Advisor of International Relations. Professor Yang Zhou,Vice President of SCAU greeted the guests and discussed details of corporationand signed a Memorandum of Articulation.
Professor Yang Zhou pointed out that both sides hadalreadysigned a Memorandum of Understanding in September, from which cooperation could develop substantially. In addition, the two universities shared similarities in courses and we are expected to develop the multiple exchange and cooperation particularly on agricultural domains from College of Veterinary Medicine to College of Animal Science. The representatives exchanged views about postgraduate joint programmes as well.
Professor Lyn Karstadt indicated that short-term programme, 3+1 undergraduate programme, postgraduate joint programme could be considered. Professor David Morrison delivered an introduction to Murdoch University.
During the visit, Deputy Director of International Relations Mrs. Yuan Juhua demonstrated anoverviews of SCAU, and some details on faculty and student exchange carried out in recent years, and posposed possible mode of cooperation. Executive Vice-Dean of School of Postgraduate Professor Peng Xinxiang, Dean of College of Animal Science Professor Jiang Qinyan, External Affairs Vice-Dean of college of Veterinary Medicine Professor Ren Tao also introduced their colleges respectively, discussed about the mode of faculty and student exchanges, from short-term to long-term, particularly postgraduate joint programme. Moreover, both sides revealed that they would follow up these proposals,andput them into practice assoon as possible.
