Led by Prof. Stephen Bentley, Dean of International, College of Physical Sciences & Engineering, a delegation from Cardiff University visited SCAU on March 17th. Prof. Feng Lixin, Director of Office of International Relations host the meeting in the conference room on the eighth floor of the administration building. The two parties discussed on the further cooperation between Cardiff University and SCAU, such as ‘3+1’ program and summer programs, etc.
On behalf of SCAU, Feng Lixin gave a warm welcome to Prof. Bentley and his colleagues. He reviewed the progress in students exchange since the two had signed the cooperation agreement in 2015. Cardiff University, as one of the top 100 universities in the UK, had a high reputation in civil engineeringincluding mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and other disciplines. An international platform had been established for SCAU students through the collaboration between the two universities.The universities will continue to share teaching resources and promote cooperation in broader fields.
It is the forth time that Professor Bentley visited SCAU. He expressed their sincere gratitude on behalf of Cardiff University toSCAU for student exchange program. The delegation comprised professors from College of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science. They hoped that this was an opportunity to communicate with more students and increase their knowledge of Cardiff University. Both parties exchanged views on the course designof electrical engineering and automation.
After the meeting, a promotion had been held for the students of College of Mathematics and Informatics, College of Water Conservancy and Civil Engineering, College of Material and Energy and College of Engineering. The professors are warmly welcomed by the staff and students.

Cardiff University, located in capital of Wales, is an old brand university. The school obtain the Royal Charter in 1883, is the only selected Welsh group (The Russell Group) university. According to the 2014 British REF(research excellence framework) rankings, Cardiff University ranked the fifth in the quality of comprehensive research in the United Kingdom, and its impact of the study ranked second in the top. Among them, civil engineering ranked first, mechanical engineering ranked fourth, the physical astronomy ranked the top 6, chemistry ranked ninth.
