Vice-Chancellor of scientific research from University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Dr. Scott Snyder and SCAU vice-chancellor Prof. Liu Yahong exchanges gifts
Recently, delegation from University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) led by Vice-Chancellor of scientific research Dr. Scott Snyder visited SCAU for establishing cooperative relationship between the two universities. SCAU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Liu Yahong hosted the guests and the two sides had a meeting.
Prof. Liu Yahong introduced the current situation of SCAU and underlined that focusing on the construction of high level university in Guangdong province, SCAU attached more importance to engage in various kinds of exchange and cooperation with overseas universities and institutions. She especially pointed out that both cooperative education with University College Dublin and 2+2 student program with Lancaster University had made great progress, and hoped that through the visit of UNO, the two sides could further carry out cooperation of multiple levels and domains.
Dr. Scott Snyder also hoped that faculties and students from both universities could cooperate with each other in issues on teaching and scientific research. He stated that preponderant subjects in UNO include Economic Management, Information Technology, Public Administration, Art and so on, with the expectation that the two universities could complement each other’s advantages through cooperation so as to advance the level of scientific research and internationalization together. What’s more, Dr. Scott Snyder promised that to help those who had intention to study in UNO, the UNO Language Center would provide 8-week-language courses for them.
At the meeting, both sides also expressed that they would further confirm specific areas of cooperation and signed the memorandum with the will of promoting cooperation.
It is reported that UNO Jazz Band would have a performance in China this September and they planned to come to SCAU. During the cultural feast when they enjoy and celebrate with faculties and students from College of Arts in SCAU, the two sides will further discuss cooperative issues in detail.
Deputy Director of Office of International Relations Prof. Yuan Juhua, Deputy Dean of College of Mathematics and Informatics Prof. Huang Qiong and faculty representatives from College of Arts attended the meeting. Chinese representative of UNO Ms. Benlinda Jiang escorted to visit SCAU.
