Zhong Yangjin
Zhong earned his Master’s degree from SCAU Department of Sericulture in 1986. Afterwards, he became a faculty member of South China Agricultural University. Zhong was promoted to be professor in 2005 and was responsible for founding College of Pearl River (Independent College) of SCAU. He served as Dean and CPC Secretary of College of Pearl River from 2006 to 2007 and was appointed to be CPC Secretary of College of Art from 2007 to 2010. Since August 2011 he served as Vice Secretary of the CPC SCAU Committee.
His main research interests focus on sericulture technology and molecular biology. Zhong has undertaken National Tenth Five-Year Sub-Topic Program and Adjustment of Agricultural Structure of Major Technology Researching Project held by the Ministry of Agriculture. He also participated in National 863 Planning and some National Natural Science Foundation. Zhong has published over 20 papers in both national and provincial academic journals.
Since 2000, he has won several awards, including the First Prize of Education by South China Agricultural University, the Second Prize of Outstanding Teaching Achievement by South China Agricultural University,the Third Prize of Agricultural Technology Promotion by Guangdong Province. In 2008, Zhong was entitled to Outstanding Communist Party Worker by the Ministry of Education of theCommunist Party of China, Guangdong Province Committee.
