From May 10 to 14, a delegation led by Vice President Xian Chunlong visited St. John's University and attended the Overseas High-level Personnel Recruitment Fair sponsered by Guangdong Province Office of Education in Harvard University.
On May 11 in St. John's University, the delegation led by Vice President Xian Chunlong received warm hospitality from Executive Vice Provost Professor Simon Geir Miller, Deputy Director of the International Office Matthew Pucciarelli, Assistant of Director of the International Office Dr. Zoe Petropolou, Director of Biotechnology Research Institute Professor Chen Zhesheng from College of Pharmacy and Director of Language Center Christina Quartararo. Representatives of the host university and our delegation introduced basic situation of respective schools, had in-depth discussions on joint talent cultivation, teachers’ training and joint school-running and reached a consensus. Later, the delegation led by Vice President Xian Chunlong visited the labs, history museum and student communities of St. John's University, gaining a detailed understanding of its management, academic guidance for students and logistics services.

On May 12, the delegation led by Vice President Xian Chunlong attended Guangdong Province High-level Universities’ High-level Personnel Recruitment Fair held by Guangdong Province Office of Education in Harvard University. In G115 Lecture Hall of Maxwell Dworkin Building of Harvard University, Director of Guangdong Province Office of Education Luo Weiqi and Director of Guangdong Province Foreign Expert Bureau Lao Zhihong delivered speeches respectively. Later, 16 universities from Guangdong Province presented respective school orientation and talent policies. In the end, a personnel-signing ceremony was held, in which on behalf of our school, Vice President Xian Chunlong formally signed SCAU Personnel Introduction Agreement with Dr. Xiarui, an introduced high-level personnel, post doctor in University of Delaware and Thousand Youth Talent applied by College of Horticulture in 2015.

Meanwhile, the recruitment stalls outside the lecture hall attracted a multitude of Chinese overseas students from Harvard University and other American colleges and universities around. An endless stream of applicants flooded the recruitment stall of our school. Besides, some students who were not able to attend the personnel recruitment fair contacted our school through Wechat and sent their resumes. After preliminary screening, more than 20 outstanding PhDs and researchers conformed to the requirements of our school. The applied posts concerned areas including resources and environment, life sciences, veterinarian, materials, agricultural economy and statistics, etc. Among the applicants, at least 6 excellent PhDs or post doctors intended to sign up.

During the recruitment fair held in Harvard University, Zhang Lingyun, an associate professor of College of Horticulture of SCAU who engaged in advanced studies in Harvard University, and part of the alumni also participated.
