Recently, the Fifth Congress of Guangdong Association of Forestry Sciences was held in Guangzhou. The director of Provincial Forestry Administration and over 100 representatives attended the meeting. The meeting summarized the work of the Seventh Council and chose the Eighth Council and the Standing Executive Committee of Guangdong Association of Forestry Sciences through election. The President of SCAU, Prof. Chen Xiaoyang was elected Deputy Chairman in the Eighth Council of Guangdong Association of Forestry Sciences.

Guangdong Provincial Association of Forestry Sciences is a time-honored society which has already covered 80 years history and contributed significantly to the construction of forestry in Guangdong Province. Nowadays, the forestry sciences are stepping into a new developing phase, which will accelerate the modernization of forestry construction throughout the province.
