Invited by SCAU, Dr. Duan Yongpin, working in Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service in America, visited South China Agricultural University from September 11 to 13, 2006. Dr. Yu Rangcai, Director of Office of International Relations of SCAU, Ms. Lu Xinqin, Secretary general of the CPC Committee of College of Natural Resources& Environment, both Mr. Li Huapin and Mr. Liu Shizhe, vice-dean of College of Natural Resources& Environment all met Dr. Duan Yongping and gave him a warm welcome.

On the afternoon of September 12, Dr. Duan delivered an academic report whose title is the present conditions of Citrus canker and Citrus yellow shoot in Florida and relevant research. Teachers and students listened to the report attentively and discussed with Dr. Duan. This report tells the actuality of Citrus canker and Citrus yellow shoot in the USA, the latest research achievements made in this field.

The visit of Dr. Duan is of great significance to strengthen the international cooperation in the study of Citrus canker and Citrus yellow shoot.

Dr. Duan Yongpin has been working in Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service. He is a molecule plant pathologist, whose research interest lies in the study of Citrus disease, especially Citrus canker and Citrus yellow shoot.
