International Exchange

SCAU has been actively building international academic exchanges and co-operations with other academic organizations in the world. It has established inter-institutional ties with twenty-three universities from thirteen countries in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. There are more and more academic exchanges between SCAU and universities in HongKong and Macao. In promoting the international multi-agricultural

technological exchanges, the UNDP, FAO and WFC have attached great importance to the university and established the Regional Sericulture Training Center for Asia and Pacific and China International Center for Agricultural Training in SCAU. Up to now, the university has trained around 1000 overseas students and numerous research and government officials from over 50 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, America, and Oceania. Every year numbers of foreign scholars come here to make academic exchanges and to give lectures. In addition, our university has been sending groups of teachers and researchers to 22 countries for short-term training, education and cooperative research.

  • The 1st International Litchi and Longan Symposium

The 1st International Litchi and Longan Symposium was held in Guangzhou on Jun. 19, 2000. It is co-sponsored by South China Agricultural University, the International Gardening Association and Hebrew University of Israel. About 108 experts and scholars from 17 countries such as the USA, Spain and Australia attend this conference.

  • The International Seminar about the adaptability of crop to tropical/semi-tropical low phosphorous soil

The International Seminar about the adaptability of crop to tropical/semi-tropical low phosphorous soil is sponsored by South China Agricultural University in May, 2002. 32 scholars from 3 countries participate in this seminar and they submit 16 academic papers.

  • The International Symposium about the Study of Allelopathy and Application

The International Symposium about the Study of Allelopathy and Application was opened in Sanshui City in April 2004. 30 participants from 8 countries are present and 36 academic papers are submitted in this symposium.

  • The Training Conference about South China Regional Eco-agriculture System Model Design

80 participants from 3 countries attend the Training Conference about South China Regional Eco-agriculture System Model Design held by South China Agricultural University in Jun. 2004.

  • The 3rd International Waterfowl Conference

Consigned by the International Poultry Association, South China Agricultural University and the International Poultry Association China Branch co-hosted the 3rd International Waterfowl Conference in Guangzhou in November, 2005. In this conference are over 200 scholars from China and 12 other countries such as the USA, the UK, France, Germany, Egypt and Indian.
