SCAU Celebrates 100 Years' Partnership with PSU

On May 29, SCAU held the ceremony to commemorate the 100 years' partnership between SCAU and PSU (Penn State University) at the library. Vice president Wang Hao chaired the ceremony.

 The PSU delegation, headed by President Graham Spanier specially came to our university for this celebration. Our president Chen Xiaoyang, Prof. Lu Yonggen, Prof. Luo Shiming and Prof. Li Pengfei who is expert at vegetable breeding, are also present.

 President Chen Xiaoyang, on behalf of our university, expressed his warm welcome to the PSU delegation. In his remarks, he looked back on the 100 years' cooperative history of our two universities, and spoke highly of great contributions made. He hoped that through our joint efforts, the cooperative fields will be extended, the collaborative level will be enhanced, our friendship flowers are flourishing.

 President Graham Spanier said nowadays, universities are playing a leading role in strengthening the international cooperation. He encouraged students to know more, study more and hoped to develop more and more cooperative projects. Prof. Lu Yonggen also made a brief presentation. 

Afterwards, two presidents sign the memorandum of agreement. It describes the general objectives, collaborative fields, background, and funds and administration etc. Then, they celebrate together for the establishment of SCAU-PSU joint lab. After this, both sides presented gifts to each other.

 The PSU delegation, accompanied by vice president Wang Hao, visited the College of Food Science, the College of Life Sciences and Lab for Root biology.
